Camko Looking to Invest in Electric Car Assembly in Cambodia

PHNOM PENH: Former Korean Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun praised Cambodia's economic growth and sustainable development during his recent visit with the Vice-President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol.

The two men met on January 24 along with a delegation from Camko Motor Company, which manages Hyundai Cambodia. The former PM noted that Cambodia’s ambition to maintain good air quality is in line with the goals of Camko as the company expands production in Cambodia while implementing environmental protection.

Camko Motor Company is currently owns plants in Cambodia that assemble Hyundai vehicles and manufacture electrical wiring for automobiles for export. Meanwhile, Camko Infracore is looking to invest in an electric car assembly plant in Cambodia for export to the world market.

DPM Sun Chanthol extended a warm welcome to Chung Sye-kyun on his visit to Cambodia and asked him to further disseminate Cambodia's potential to Korean investors in order to expand investment activities between the two countries.
